Veterans Roofing was lucky enough to participate in not just 1, not just 2 but SIX National Night Outs this year. What an honor to get the opportunity to unite along side our men in women who work on the frontlines every day to ensure the safety and security of our communities! Huge shout out to Galloway, Absecon, Linwood, Mullica, Hammonton and Egg Harbor Township for organizing such a great event!
Incase you did not already know, National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. The state of New Jersey and select areas celebrate NNO the first Tuesday in October each year, so if you missed it this year, we hope to see you next!
According to members of the Fourth of July parade committee, it is the largest parade of its kind based on number of units. The annual parade will follow its usual route east on Smithville Boulevard to Moss Mill Road and then west on Moss Mill to Historic Smithville. Up to 10,000 people are expected to line the parade route, with many following the fire apparatus closing the parade to an Independence Day ceremony in Smithville's Village Greene.
"We'll be honoring the women who served, but keep in mind the police and all men and women who serve every day," Maxwell said. He said he was hoping for good weather and a great parade. "It makes me so excited to see kids 5 and 6 years old waving flags," Maxwell said. "They don't know yet how their ancestors fought to save this country. "He said he was happy with the Fourth of July Parade's growth over the years.
