The Role
As a Carpenter at Veterans Roofing, you'll work alongside our Lead Carpenter and production crews on exterior projects — framing, sheathing, trim, fascia, window and door prep, and the structural carpentry that supports every roofing, siding, and window install we do. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to build real carpentry skills in exterior residential construction. Whether you've got a few years under your belt or you're a hard worker ready to learn the trade from the ground up, there's a place for you on the crew.
What You'll Do
- Perform layout, cutting, and installation of wood and composite exterior components — framing, sheathing, fascia, soffit, rake boards, and trim
- Prep window and door openings and substrates for siding and window installation crews
- Assist the Lead Carpenter with structural wood framing, repairs, and deck work as needed
- Measure, cut, and shape materials to precise specifications using hand and power tools
- Follow instructions from the Lead Carpenter and Project Supervisor and work as part of a crew
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site throughout the project
- Load and unload materials and set up equipment
- Communicate respectfully with homeowners when on-site
What You Bring
- Reliable, hardworking, and committed to showing up every day
- Some carpentry or construction experience preferred but not required for the right attitude — we train motivated people
- Comfortable working at heights and on rooftops in all weather conditions
- Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs repeatedly and working on your feet all day
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites
- Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
- Basic hand and power tool knowledge is a plus
- Veterans strongly encouraged to apply — your service skills translate directly to the trades
Compensation
Competitive hourly pay based on experience. $22–$35/hour with overtime opportunities. Weekly pay.
