Insurance Claims Specialist

The Role

As our Insurance Claims Specialist, you're the advocate homeowners count on when storm damage or unexpected exterior damage turns their life upside down. When a homeowner decides to file an insurance claim, you step in to manage the entire process — from initial damage assessment and documentation through adjuster meetings, supplement requests, and final approval. You'll be the face of Veterans Roofing at the insurance table, representing both the company and the homeowner with professionalism, expertise, and relentless follow-through. This role requires someone who understands exterior construction, knows how insurance companies evaluate claims, and can push a claim through to full approval without burning bridges. What You'll Do

• Conduct detailed exterior damage inspections and document all findings with comprehensive photo and written reports
• File insurance claims on behalf of homeowners, including preparing and submitting all required documentation to the insurance carrier
• Meet with insurance adjusters on-site during claim inspections to advocate for full and accurate damage assessment
• Review adjuster reports and scope of work for accuracy, identifying underpaid or missed damage items
• Prepare and submit supplement requests with supporting documentation, estimates, and photo evidence
• Negotiate with insurance adjusters and carriers to ensure claims are approved at full scope and value
• Coordinate with our sales and production teams to ensure approved work scopes match what we'll actually install
• Track all active claims through the entire lifecycle — from filing to final settlement — and follow up relentlessly
• Educate homeowners on their policy coverage, claim process, and what to expect at every step
• Maintain detailed claim files in AccuLynx with all correspondence, documentation, and status updates
• Stay current on insurance carrier processes, policy language, and changing claim requirements
• Serve as the homeowner's trusted representative — answering questions, providing updates, and ensuring a smooth, stress-free experience

What You Bring

• 2+ years of experience in exterior insurance claims, restoration, or storm damage assessment
• Deep understanding of homeowners insurance policies, claim filing processes, and adjuster workflows
• Proven track record of successfully pushing claims through to approval, including supplements and negotiations
• Strong knowledge of roofing, siding, and exterior construction materials and installation methods
• Experience reading and interpreting Xactimate or similar estimating software is a strong plus
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills — you can advocate firmly without being adversarial
• Highly organized with the ability to manage 15–30 active claims simultaneously
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation — you'll be on-site across South Jersey
• Comfortable climbing ladders and walking roofs during damage inspections
• HAAG or similar certification is a plus but not required — we'll invest in your certification
